Restrictions

At Balticfresh.com, we respect the rules and regulations of Singapore government and do our best to block Customs prohibited products from our site. However, please be aware, the following substances are not allowed to be imported into Singapore: DHEA and products containing poppy seeds and hemp.



Dutiable Goods

Dutiable goods, such as liquor and tobacco products, that are imported by post incur GST and duty. There is no duty-free concession or GST relief.

  • If your parcels contain dutiable goods, you will be informed through a Letter of Notification from SingPost to collect the parcel at Singapore Post Centre personally or through an authorised representative. You (or your authorised representative) are required to produce the Letter of Notification and the commercial invoice during collection. The parcel will be released after examination by ICA officers in the presence of you or your authorised representative, and upon payment of the GST and duty.
  •  A Customs In-Payment (Duty and GST) permit must be taken up for parcels with dutiable liquor and tobacco products, except for: (i) non-controlled dutiable liquor products with a total CIF value not exceeding S$400 and of an amount not exceeding 10 litres in total; and (ii) non-controlled dutiable tobacco products with a total CIF value not exceeding S$400 and of an amount not exceeding 0.4 kilogramme in total. You should present the permit (if required) for clearance by ICA when collecting the goods at Singapore Post Centre.


Non-Dutiable and Non-Controlled Goods

Non-dutiable and non-controlled goods imported by post with a total CIF value not exceeding S$400 are granted GST relief. 

  • For a parcel with its commercial invoice attached, SingPost will deliver the parcel to you.
  • For a parcel without its commercial invoice attached, the parcel will be retained by ICA. You will be informed through a Letter of Notification from SingPost to collect the parcel at Singapore Post Centre personally or through an authorised representative. You or your authorised representative is required to produce the Letter of Notification and the invoice during collection. Alternatively, the parcel can be delivered to you if you fax the required letter and invoice to ICA at 6842 7606 and authorise SingPost to deliver the parcel at a chargeable fee.

Non-dutiable and non-controlled goods imported by post with a total CIF value exceeding S$400 will incur GST on the entire invoice value.

  • For a parcel with its commercial invoice attached, SingPost will deliver the parcel to you and collect GST on delivery.
  • For a parcel without its commercial invoice attached, you will be informed through a Letter of Notification. You or your authorised representative is required to produce the Letter of Notification and the invoice during collection at SingPost Centre. Alternatively, the parcel can be delivered to you if you fax the required letter and invoice to ICA at 6842 7606 and authorise SingPost to deliver the parcel at a chargeable fee.   


Controlled Goods

Controlled goods require proper authorisation (advance notification, licence approval, certificate approval) from Competent Authorities (CAs) before they may be imported into Singapore.

To check if your goods are controlled, you may search here using the description of the goods, its Harmonized System (HS) or CA product codes. If the item is subject to control, you may check directly with the respective CAs on their licensing requirements.

Controlled goods imported by post with a total CIF value not exceeding S$400 are granted GST relief.

  • The importer will receive a Letter of Notification from SingPost to contact and follow-up with the relevant CA.

Controlled goods imported by post with a total CIF value exceeding S$400 will incur GST on its entire invoice value.

  • The importer will receive a Letter of Notification from SingPost to contact and obtain the proper authorisation from the relevant CA.
  • The parcel will be released when the proper authorisation by the CA is presented and GST is paid to ICA.
  • Certain CAs may require a Customs permit to be taken to account for the goods. The importer will be notified if this is required.

AUSTRALIA

General Information

Starting July 1st 2018, the goods and services tax (GST) will be applied to any imported goods to Australia. The new GST will include charging all imported goods to Australia with a 10% tax on the retail price and on all items that are valued at $1000 Australian Dollar or less.

Restrictions

Please be aware, the following substances are not allowed to be imported into Australia:

-Supplements containing hemp oil, egg yolks, dairy, MSM, DHEA, Melatonin, bee pollen, bee pollen as a powder, banana, Hoodia, Kava, Camu Camu powder, Cordyceps powder, products with hormones such as Pregnenolone, HGH or 7-Keto and some products containing enzymes

-Dried beans, lentils, products for pets, and rice each require an import permit

-Any product in powdered form may cause customs to quarantine an order or assess extra fees.

BELGIUM

INDIA
General Information
Shipments arriving in India will be imposed with a 42.1% D&T (Duties and Taxes) due to the government's regulation. The 42.1% D&T will be collected at the time of checkout for customs clearance purpose. Please visit the government's official website for more information on the D&T charges.

India Customs requires you to upload Know Your Customer (KYC) documents (Government recognized identity and address proofs) to obtain shipment clearance. Import clearance cannot start unless Consignees' KYC documents are uploaded by the consignee.  The types of documents required for individuals are: For Individuals: Consignee's KYC documents such as passport/Voter ID/Driver's License/PAN (Permanent Account Number).

JAPAN

If your order value exceeds ¥ 15,500, you will be charged for Customs duty and taxes.
If you plan to use Rewards credits, the value of the order (before Rewards credits are applied) needs to be less than ¥ 15,500 to avoid Customs fees.

Prohibited: Please be aware that the following substances are prohibited to import to Japan: kelp, hoodia, aloe, (except aloe vera), vanilla, rice, grains, nuts, seeds, raw beans, products containing hemp, pet products, meat products (such as jerky and extracts), dairy products, DHEA products and edible or drinkable products that contain Atenolol, Atomoxetine, Adrafinil, Aniracetam, Etiracetam, Oxiracetam, Dihydroergotoxine Mesilate, Somatropin, Vasopressin Tannate, Tianeptine, Desmopressin Acetate Hydrate, Nadolol, Nicergoline, Nimodipine, Nefiracetam, Vinpocetine, Piracetam, Furosemide, Bromocriotine Mesilate, Pramiracetam, Pregnenolone, Propranolol Hydrochloride, Levetiracetam.

Limitations:
There is an exception to the 'kelp' rule: The only kelp product allowed in Japan is the following item with one condition: Sea Tangle Noodle Company, Kelp Noodles, 12 oz. (340 g); (Customers are only allowed to order up to 5 kg. of this product per month, which equals about 14 bags.)
22 lbs (10 kg) or less grocery/food items (including Supplements and protein drinks) per order, are allowed for personal importation.
Estrogen (supplement), 7-Keto/7-Keto DHEA can be imported only a one-month supply at a time.

The following products or ingredients can be imported, but only a two-month supply: Melatonin, Yohimbe, Potassium Iodine/Iodide, 5-HTP, Caffeine and Taurine. If one bottle contains more than a two-month supply or multiple bottles are purchased, the items will be confiscated by customs.

Cosmetic products including shampoo and conditioner are allowed to be imported, but only up to 24 items.

Duties and taxes will be imposed by Japan Customs on any sugar/sweetener products (maple syrup and agave nectar included) regardless of weight or item value. If total weight of sugar/sweetener product(s) per order exceeds 1 kg, duties and taxes will be imposed and additional documentation process will be required by the Japan Customs. If your order value exceeds ¥ 15,500 and contains raw honey products, an extra Custom’s duty of 50% will be assessed.

Customs inspection may cause a clearance delay if your order includes above products.


KAZAKHSTAN
General Information

Please Note
Customs or the delivery company may contact you over the phone or via email to ask that you provide the following data for receiving the goods under preferential procedures (for individuals):

1. Print and sign the contract, which can be downloaded on the website of the company Alem TAT.
2. Send a copy of the signed contract and your ID card to the email address: customs@alemtat.kz

Customs clearance is carried out according to the requirements and conditions of the "Agreement on the movement of goods by individuals for personal use through customs border of the Customs Union and customs operations connected with their release of 18 June 2010."

Please note that by sending the contract and the copy of your ID, you give the right to a Customs representative to use your personal data for purposes of Customs clearance.



KOREA

Import taxes for personal goods are imposed on the date that shipments enter Korea Customs, not based on the date that orders were placed. If two or more orders enter Customs on the same day and the total value exceeds $150, import taxes may be imposed.

All products that contain dairy as an ingredient, including milk, cheese or yogurt, are subject to an additional inspection at the Korean Customs office. Items containing meat, animal products, vegetables, nuts, grains and products intended for pets may be subject to quarantine inspections.

Korean Customs may require a doctor's prescription for orders containing 6 or more supplements.
For any raw honey products, if the order total weight along with other products exceeds 5 kg (on a single day), the duties and taxes will be assessed by the Korean Customs office.

The Customs inspection may cause a clearance delay if your order includes above products.


MACAU

RUSSIA
General Information

Duty-free regulation change: Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation announced that duty-free limit for private goods import will be reduced to EUR 500 and 31 kg starting from January 1, 2019.

Customs Information
Personal imports over EUR 500 and/or 31 kgs per month will be subject to applicable Duties and Taxes and other customs fees.

According to the Order of The Federal Customs Service Of the Russian Federation, of 05.07.2018 № 1060 «The procedure for using as a passenger customs declaration of the register of express goods of goods for personal use, delivered by the carrier to individuals, using the UAIS of customs authorities» recipients of personal shipments with Russian citizenship must provide an ITN along with Passport ID for customs clearance. You can access https://service.nalog.ru/inn.do to obtain the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.

SAUDI ARABIA
General Information
Due to the fluctuations of the exchange rate, orders with value very close to the tax-free limit may be assessed Duties and Taxes (D&T) as the currency exchange rate may vary from the order date to the customs clearance date.

Regulations
Only 1 order allowed per month per Customer ID/Passport with maximum weight of 14.5kg.
Food/Supplements: Max 5 different products with max 3 of same product.

As of March 1st 2018, Swedish Customs will collect VAT on all shipments regardless of order value. In addition, orders below €150 will be subject to a customs fee of €7.50 and orders over €150 will be subject to a customs fee of €12.50.
